Witchy Wassail Recipe

Wassail at Yule is the perfect, refreshing beverage to serve after feasting on mushroom herb wellington, creamy mashed red potatoes, and cranberry sauce. While some prefer their wassail warm, I like to serve it in cut crystal over ice with a fresh sprig of rosemary as garnish.

 

Witchy Wassail

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples

  • 8 cups apple juice

  • 2 cups orange juice

  • 1/3 cup lemon juice

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 20 whole cloves

  • 1/4 to 1 tsp fresh chopped ginger

  • 1/4tsp fresh chopped rosemary

  • 1TBSP sugar

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large pot

  2. Simmer on low 30-45 minutes

  3. Strain

  4. Enjoy hot or chill and serve over ice with a sprig of rosemary

The fresh ginger and rosemary in this witchy wassail recipe really set it apart as a Yule drink. Wassail will stay fresh in the refrigerator up to one week.
