Solstice Golden Milk

Warm up your winter evenings with a cup of golden milk, a soothing brew that not only comforts the soul but also supports your health. Turmeric, with its antioxidant properties, is known for promoting strong bones and joint health. Get creative with your choice of milk to suit your taste; I often combine 1 cup of whole organic coconut milk with 2 cups of cashew milk to add a touch of richness and warmth to this nourishing concoction.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of your preferred milk

  • 3 teaspoons of ground turmeric

  • ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger

  • A pinch of ground cardamom

  • 3 to 5 teaspoons of maple syrup

  • Whole nutmeg grated as garnish over the top of each cup

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients over low heat.

  2. Whisk the mixture for approximately 10 minutes until the flavors meld together into a delightful, aromatic blend.

  3. Serve your golden milk warm with a quick grate of the nutmeg over the top foam and savor the cozy comfort it brings.

I like to prepare a blend of these aromatic spices ahead of time, keeping them in a small glass jar on the counter making it effortlessly easy to whip up this soothing drink on those chilly nights.
